Zelensky Says Attacks On Electricity Grid Won’t Stop Ukraine’s Advance

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday evening called on Ukrainians to limit electricity consumption, making it clear, however, that Russian attacks on the country’s electricity grid will not stop Ukraine’s advance.

“The stability of the electrical industry of our entire country depends on every city and district in Ukraine. Limit the use of electrical appliances that consume a lot of electricity. And especially during peak hours, morning and evening,” Zelensky said in the daily video on Facebook.

Russian attacks on the electricity grid left more than a million Ukrainians without electricity on Saturday. Zelensky argued that, even “partly in the dark”, life in Ukraine “remains civilized”, while in Russia there is the same “cruelty” with electricity “that was there in ancient times”.

The president is asking Ukrainians to heed the authorities’ warnings about potential power outages in the regions where they live and to plan their days with this information in mind. “Together, we now show that Ukraine’s life cannot be broken,” he said.

Zelensky further states that: the Russians “are lying when they say that this terror against our infrastructure and our people could somehow slow down our military’s actions or cause problems for our defenses”repeating that “the Russians have no chance of winning this war”.

“Our armed forces are getting everything they need to defend the country and they are advancing every day, I repeat every day,” Zelensky said.
