In November, Airbus will pay a bonus to employees around the world to offset rising inflation, with a gross value of €1,500 in Germany, France, Spain and the UK, where it has a larger industrial presence.
Sources from the European aircraft manufacturer told the Spanish agency EFE on Tuesday that the premium will be paid to the 120,000 Airbus employees around the world, but in the rest of the countries the amount will not be the same.
As they said, this value will be calculated as a percentage of the average local salary base, and young workers who alternate between training and internships in the company will also be covered.
The objective is to help offset, in the short term, the effect of inflation on the loss of purchasing power of workers.
The prize to be awarded does not modify the salary negotiation processes that are carried out in each country. In France, for example, an agreement was signed last March that provides for an increase of 6.8% for the whole of the years 2022-2023 and will be reviewed in March of next year.
The cost of the measure, around 200 million euros, will be reflected in the accounts of Airbus, which on Friday releases the results of the third quarter.
