With 67% of the polls counted, Lula da Silva regains the lead and surpasses Bolsonaro

When 67% of the polls had already been counted, Lula da Silva once again led the vote count, with 50.01%, compared to 49.99% for Bolsonaro.

The special envoy of TSF to Brazil, Filipe Santa-Bárbara, recorded, in the streets of São Paulo, the moment in which the result turned around and Lula da Silva regained the lead.

In the first round, Jair Bolsonaro started with more votes than Lula da Silva and only when three-quarters of the electoral colleges were counted did the leftist candidate go on to lead the count.

The polls closed this Sunday at 5:00 p.m. local time (8:00 p.m. in Lisbon).

In Brazil, voting can continue at polling stations where there are still people queuing to vote after closing time.
