Plane crash in Tanzania leaves at least three dead

The accident of the Precision Air passenger plane on Sunday in Lake Victoria, Tanzania, with 43 passengers on board, caused at least three deaths, according to local hospital officials, emergency services and firefighters.

Speaking to national television TBC, the medical director of the Kagera Regional Referral Hospital, Issasanda Kaniki, revealed that 25 injured passengers and three bodies were received in that health unit.

“There are three dead. Rescue operations continue,” rescuers said in a statement.

However, the Tanzanian airline published a note on the social network ‘Twitter’ in which it states that it has not yet been able to count the number of dead and that rescue operations continue.

Earlier, regional commissioner Albert Chalamila announced the rescue of 26 people.

The ATR 42-500 model plane, which was traveling from Tanzania’s commercial capital Dar Es Salaam to Bukoba via Mwanza, crashed into the lake shortly before attempting to land at Bukoba airport, according to preliminary reports from security forces. safety, due to heavy rain and strong winds.
