Ryanair announces profits of 1,371 million euros between April and September

The low-cost airline Ryanair reported this Monday that it obtained a profit of 1,371 million euros in the first fiscal semester (April-September), compared to losses of 47.6 million euros registered in the same period of 2021.

The Dublin-based company attributed “the strong earnings” (gross values), among other factors, to what it called “operational reliability”, the recovery of passenger travel and the increase in airfares during the holiday season, in summer.

Ryanair indicates in a statement released today that it transported 91.1 million passengers in the first half of 2022 -143% more than last year-, which, it says, “confirms” the recovery of the sector affected by the health crisis.

Ticket prices increased by 07% in this (fiscal) period, and in July and August the increase was 14% -compared to 2021 values-, which “compensated” for the fall in the first quarter of this year scarred by war. in Ukraine.

In this context, Ryanair obtained 6,620 million euros between the months of April and September: 207% more than in 2021 and after the opening of 15 new operating bases and the launch of 770 additional routes.
