Zelensky claims the front of Donetsk is covered in Russian corpses

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday that the Donetsk front, where fierce fighting is taking place, is “literally covered” with Russian corpses and that “dying by the hundreds every day”.

“The Donetsk region remains the epicenter of the occupiers’ greatest madness: hundreds are dying every day. The ground for the Ukrainian positions is literally covered with the occupiers’ bodies”he said.

Zelensky said Ukrainian forces maintained an “active defense” along the front lines and “gradually” pushed back the Russians in areas to the east and south.

“Little by little we are making progress”he emphasized.

The Ukrainian leader said that in light of what “is happening”, some Russian soldiers “complained to the governor of the Litoral Krai region about colossal losses”but this “lye”, stating that “the losses are ‘far from this'”.

The Ukrainian president called on Russian citizens to stage a “fierce” protest, not on social media, not “under the covers”, but on the streets “against power in Moscow”.

The Russians attacked more than 50 villages in Donbass, Zaporiyia, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Kharkov and Dnipropetrovsk on Monday, but Ukrainian forces responded on all fronts, according to Zelensky, who said one of the results was the shooting down of a Russian plane. .

The Ukrainian head of state assured that his country has been given new air defense systems and although air protection is “not 100 percent” it is making progress towards that goal.

Zelensky also reported on the decision of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to “forcibly” take control of five Ukrainian companies “to meet the needs of the war”.

At stake are Motor Sich, KrAZ, Ukrnafta, Ukrtatnafta and Zaporizhtransformer, which from now on will be involved in the repair and production of equipment, the supply of armed forces and the rehabilitation of infrastructure, the Ukrainian president announced.
