Joe Biden has been working to provide as much aid as possible to kyiv ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he spoke with his American counterpart, Joe Biden, on Friday and thanked him for his “unwavering support,” less than two weeks before he handed over power to Donald Trump.

Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Joe Biden for his “unwavering support for Ukrainian independence and for the vital role the United States has played in unifying the international community,” the Ukrainian leader said in a message on X.

Trump promises to resolve the conflict in “24 hours”

Joe Biden has been working to provide as much aid as possible to kyiv ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20, fearing his successor will reduce his support once he takes office.

Donald Trump has promised to resolve the conflict within “24 hours” after his return to the White House, raising fears that Ukraine will be forced to make important concessions in exchange for peace. However, Moscow has gained ground in recent months, while the exhausted Ukrainian military still lacks resources.

Volodymyr Zelensky also said he “expressed (his) condolences for the devastating fires in California and the tragic loss of human life.”
