United States: a woman found in a sewer mouth in San Diego is sought for two weeks

An American was found in a sewer mouth in early April, after disappearing for two weeks. In serious condition, she died shortly after.

An unusual drama. An American, who had been searched for two weeks, was found in a sewerage mouth in California on Monday. With the support of emergency services, he died shortly after, reports the NBC media on Wednesday, April 9.

Yafang Zhou, 59, was last seen on March 25. He was near his home, located in downtown San Diego, California.

For two weeks, the police were actively looking for. The investigations carried out by the Police took them to a sewerage mouth near Beeler Canyon Road in Poway, a San Diego County. From there, the police listen to a voice that asks for help.

Places extracted thanks to a pulley

The rescue reaches the site and manages to release the fifties of this underground place thanks to a pulley system. By pointing out that it is in a serious state and in an “altered” state, firefighters urgently take it to the hospital, according to Lieutenant Jonathan Dungan.

On Tuesday, Chuck Westerheide, from the San Diego County Public Information Office, announces to NBC that Yafang Zhou did not survive his extended stay in the sewers. It was declared dead at the Palomar Medical Center on Monday at 4:15 pm local time, or 1:15 am on Tuesday.

The San Diego County County Legalist Office indicates Wednesday that, according to preliminary information, Yafang Zhou left it by car on March 25. His vehicle was found a little more than a week later, on April 2, near a road, his affairs dispersed on the ground. Her husband reported, he reports the disappearance of his wife the next day.

Probably blocked for days

At the moment, it is unknown how and why the American ended up in a sewerage mouth, visibly unable to get out of it.

“What he was doing there, which pushed him, how he found herself there, we don’t know,” said Erik Windsor, a firefighter in San Diego, believing that the fifteen years were most likely in the mouth of the sewer for several days.

“It is very unusual to have someone there,” added the firefighter.

“It’s really incredible that we can get it out of there and take it to the hospital,” he said. The causes of his death have not yet been made public.
