The G7 member countries have requested “immediate descale” and the United States, a historical ally of Pakistan, but who have approached India in recent decades, have offered their mediation.
According to Pakistani security sources, his army launched an answer against India on Saturday after New Delhi attacked Pakistani air databases, including one at the doors of Islamabad.
The Minister of Information of the Pakistani Kashmir, Mazhar Saeed Shah, also told AFP that “11 people, including four women and a child” had been killed at night “, in intense Indian attacks, in more than five places in the control line,” the de facto border in the disputed region.
AFP journalists have heard explosions this Saturday morning in the city of Srinagar, in the Indian part of the Kashmir that the two countries compete.
In the process, the Indian army confirmed that it was again attacked by Islamabad, particularly by drones, at various points along its western border. She denounced “the obvious escalation of Pakistan.”
Before dawn, two explosions had resonated in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, the nearby city where staff and intelligence services are. The Pakistani army spokesman appeared on state television to announce that “India had (had) attacked with missiles (…) The bases of Nour Khan, Mourid and Chorkot were attacked.”
A call to “decalcalación”
On Wednesday, India hit the Pakistani territory, in retaliation for an attack on April 22 in the Indian Kashmir. This attack was not claimed that killed 26 civilians, but New Delhi accuses Islamabad despite his denials.
Since then, missile attacks, artillery fire and drone attacks follow each other while the two rivals from their painful partition in 1947, everything requires appeasement.
For its part, the G7 warned in a statement against “the continuation of the military escalation (which) constitutes a serious threat to regional stability.” The group urged the two opponents “to undertake a direct dialogue for a peaceful result.”
Given this climbing, the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, immediately called the Pakistani army chief. He “continued urging the two parties to find ways to reach a decay and proposal for the United States to begin constructive discussions to avoid future conflicts,” according to a statement from the State Department.
After visiting Iranian diplomacy in Islamabad and New Delhi, the head of Saudi diplomacy, Adel Al-Jubeir has also tried mediation by going to the two countries in recent days.
Mutual accusations, but difficult to confirm
Nueva Delhi had affirmed in recent days that it had been the objective of a wave of Pakistani drone attacks in Kashmir and Penjab, a border state in the northwest. What the two camps say is impossible to verify an independent source, in particular because many areas are inaccessible.
India has closed 24 airports and local media claim that air traffic will be suspended until next week.
