Russia on Sunday accused Ukrainian forces of carrying out fresh shelling at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine, ensuring that the radiation level remained “in line with the norm.”
“The kyiv regime does not stop provocations to create the threat of disaster at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant,” the largest in Europe and militarily occupied by Russia, the Russian military said in a statement.
According to the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, “strong explosions” took place in the area of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
“The information is extremely worrying. The explosions occurred at the site of this large nuclear power plant, which is totally unacceptable,” Rafael Grossi warned in a statement.
