“We would like this war to stop”
Accompanied by his wife Anna, Liav, somehow developed a small camp in a metro station. For fear of what I could live outside, he now refuses to leave. Underground, time is in mutual help and solidarity.
“I just bought this mattress, because yesterday we only had a small blanket. We will spend our second night here, because it is the safest place. We are all stressed, but fortunately, our neighbors are very pleasant here and relax the atmosphere a bit,” says Liav.

“There is a running here as I can load my computer, my laptop and continue working all day. In spite of everything, we are tired and we would like this war to stop.”
A city ready to face the threat
The specificity in this subway station built about fifteen years ago: everything was thought in case of war and the inhabitants are even invited to confine underground.

And for a good reason, the place is particularly large and is settled accordingly. The doors are reinforced and can decorate the “explosions”, the breath of explosions. Electricity generators have also been installed. In addition, refugees have direct access to running water.
“2,000 people come to sleep every night and this number increases because they can sleep in peace and insurance here. (…) It is really the best place,” said Avi, spokesman for Tel Aviv Metro.
Anna and Liav are no exception, since here is a complete population that shows resistance. “I will go to a shelter and go,” URI told the Reuters news agency the first day of clashes.
