Did you know that robots are the biggest music lovers generated by AI? In a report published by Deezer, we learn that 70% of the listening of songs generated by AI on the platform are actually robots.
The total listening of the songs created by an AI represent a scarce 0.5% of the total listening number of Deezer, all the combined titles. But the use of these “bots” increases the number of listeners in the generated music and, therefore, allows these fraudulent titles to gain visibility. This technique allows scammers in particular to poo a more or less substantial money depending on the amount of listeners.
An emerging danger
The music generated by AI is a danger to real artists. But the first in question remains the listening platforms and the French Deezer has repeatedly confirmed its commitment against the publication of this type of content, but the scourge is still difficult to stop.
The platform recently began to be invaded by creators who publish music designed by AI. An easy to play “royalties”, royalties that the transmission platform pays to artists.
Seeing the appearance of this chicken with golden eggs, the titles (mainly composed of Suno or other similar sites) have multiplied at an amazing speed. But the proliferation of these dishonest contents is not exempt from difficulty, since it affects the remuneration of other (real) artists on the platform.
In a statement dating from January 2025, Deezer revealed that 10,000 music generated by AI were published every day on their platform, or 10% of the songs. In April 2025, this number had doubled, reaching 20,000 pieces daily according to another press release.
Deezer came to create a tool that would allow him to automatically detect when a title was created by AI and, therefore, avoid users when this is the case.
