A woman died this Sunday, July 6 in the Milan region, in northern Italy, when a tree fell on it during the bad violent weather that hit the entire area, firefighters said in X.
“Firefighters at work from the afternoon to face the damage caused by rain and wind: 50 interventions carried out to ensure dangerous plants and floods. With Dresschetto with Induno, a woman died due to the fall of a tree,” the firefighters wrote.
According to the media, the victim walked with a couple of friends who were a little injured, when a storm suddenly got up, killing the tree that killed the woman.
In Milan, the capital of Lombardy, a high rain mixed with hail fell at the end of the afternoon, causing numerous firefighters. All city parks remained closed on Sunday as a caution.
Several regions of the north on “orange” alert
Several regions of northern Italy are on an “orange” alert, only one notch below the maximum level, the “red” alert, due to the heavy rains that forced the Bergamo airport to divert thirteen flights on Saturday that were expected at the local airport.
This wave of bad weather hits the north of the country after a week of very high temperatures during which the authorities placed many cities throughout the peninsula on a red alert, which means that heat has hazards even for healthy individuals.
