The indirect negotiations between Israel and the Hamas Palestinian for a liberation agreement of Alto El Fuego and Haranes in Gaza began this Sunday, July 6 of the night in Doha, on the eve of a meeting in Washington between Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump.
“The discussions are related to the implementation mechanisms” of the agreement and an “exchange” of hostages selected in Gaza for Palestinians detained in Israel, said a Palestinian source close to the negotiations, which is carried out through mediators.
Before flying to the United States, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu estimated that his meeting with Donald Trump could “help advance this result that we all expect.” The US president presses a truce in the Gaza Strip, immersed himself in a critical humanitarian situation after 21 months of war.
“We are close to an agreement” between Israel and Hamas, said Donald Trump in front of the press this Sunday. “An agreement could arrive this week or in the coming weeks.”

Benjamin Netanyahu said he had given his negotiators “clear instructions”: reach an agreement “to the conditions we have accepted.” The Israeli leader had considered “unacceptable” on Saturday the “changes that Hamas seeks to contribute to the proposal” sponsored by the United States and transmitted by Qatar and Egyptian mediators.
According to Palestinian sources close to discussions, the proposal includes a 60 -day truce, during which Hamas would release 10 hostages still alive, as well as bodies of dead captives, in exchange for the release of Palestinians in the hands of Israel.
The changes claimed by the Islamist movement, according to these sources, are related to the terms of the withdrawal of the Israeli troops of Gaza, the guarantees that it wishes to obtain in the cessation of hostilities after 60 days, and on a resumption of the distribution of humanitarian aid by the UN and recognized international organizations.
