A car crashed into the window of an Apple Store outside Boston on Monday, killing at least one person and injuring 16, authorities said.
“A dark-colored SUV sped at an undetermined speed into the window, injuring numerous people,” Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz said at a news conference hours after the incident.
An open investigation
“The investigation is open and ongoing,” he added, as authorities have yet to determine whether or not the act was intentional.
The vehicle crashed into the store, “injuring and trapping multiple people inside,” fire officials said.
The images shown on a local ABC channel showed a large hole in the shop window and people being evacuated from the place on stretchers. The injured were taken to a hospital about 5 km from the store, a hospital spokeswoman said.
