Several people died this Tuesday in a shooting at a supermarket in Chesapeake, in the US state of Virginia, in the United States, according to reports by the ‘local media’ citing police sources.
The material author of the massacre died and, although the exact number of victims is unknown, a police spokesman indicated that there are less than 10.
The police were alerted to the incident at 22:12 this Tuesday (03:12 today in Lisbon), when the store was still open.
Around 40 emergency vehicles have been deployed in the place, where a major police operation is also being deployed.
Authorities are asking people residing in the area and family members of those who may have been at the supermarket at the time to go to the local convention center.
Chesapeake is a city of about 250,000 people and is part of the Virginia Beach and Norfolk metropolitan area.
