Russia launched a “massive” attack from Friday to Friday to the Ukrainian region of Dnipropetrovsk, where kyiv first recognized an advance in the Russian army, said the regional governor.

20% of the territory under Russian control

The Russian army currently controls approximately 20% of the Ukrainian territory. The Kremlin demands that Ukraine be removed from certain territories that continues to partially control, in particular of the Donetsk region, as a previous condition for the cessation of hostilities. Kyiv rejects this idea.

The Dnipropetrovsk region is not one of the five Ukrainian regions of which Moscow affirms annexation, namely those of Donetsk, Kherson, Lougansk, Zaporijia and Crimea.
