Ten minors and three women, all of the French nationality, were repatriated to France while in camps in Syria, announced the quai d’Orsay on Tuesday, September 16.
“France carried out a return operation in the national territory of French children today in the camps in the Northeast of Syria,” the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs wrote in a statement.
The minors, whose ages were not communicated, “were delivered to the services responsible for social assistance to childhood and will be subject to medical-social monitoring,” said the ministry.
They were attended in the context of educational assistance procedures and are now under the responsibility of the Prosecutor’s Office near the Judicial Court of Versailles.
A woman led by an arrest warrant
The three adult women, from 18 to 34, were delivered to the authorities. According to national anti -terrorism prosecution, two were placed in police custody, in the commission of the investigative judge, while the last one, being the subject of an arrest warrant, will be presented to a investigating judge during the day.
“France thanks the Syrian transition authorities, as well as the local administration of the Northeast of Sirio, which made this operation possible,” said Quai d’Orsay in his press release.
