The Israeli army said Thursday, September 18 that he led strikes in the objectives of the Pro-Iraní Movement of Hezbollah in the south of Lebanon, shortly after summoning the inhabitants of several municipalities in the region to evacuate.
“The FDI (Israeli army) began to carry out attacks on military objectives of Hezbollah in southern Lebanon,” he said in a statement. The Tsahal also ordered the evacuation of the municipalities in the south of Lebanon before attacks against the Pro-Iraní Movement of Hezbollah.
As part of a truce with Israel concluded in November and supported by the United States, Lebanon has pledged to disarm Hezbollah, with the support of Iran and Israel to stop operations against the objectives in Lebanon.
An evacuation order requested by Israel
Israel, however, maintained troops in five positions along the border with the south of Lebanon and continued throwing air attacks against what he presents as members and weapons of Hezbollah.
In a statement, the Israeli army announced that attacks were being carried out after having issued shortly before an evacuation order, warning that it would hit Hezbollah’s military infrastructure “in response to the illegal attempts of the group to resume their activities in the area.”
Hezbolá did not react immediately, or reports damages or victims. Reacting to the Evacuation Order, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam judged that he was against international efforts in progress to maintain peace.
Two dead in an Israeli strike in Baalbeck
The previous day, at least two people were killed in an Israeli strike against a car in the city of Baalbeck in East Lebanon, said the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
The National Information Agency Ani reported that the strike had been directed by an “Israeli drone.” Israel regularly performs attacks in Lebanon, stating aim at Hezbollah, despite a high-fire agreement that ended in November 2024 to more than a year of conflict, including two months of open war, between Israel and the Pro-Iraní Lebanese movement.
