Israel and Hamas reached an agreement this Thursday, October 9, on a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages after strong pressure from the president of the United States.
An Israeli government spokesperson said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump spoke on Thursday, October 9, during an “emotional” phone call following the announcement of a Gaza deal between Israel and Hamas.
“In a phone call this morning, Prime Minister Netanyahu thanked President Trump for his global leadership efforts that made this possible,” Shosh Bedrosian told reporters.
“It was an emotional and warm conversation, during which both leaders congratulated each other on this historic achievement,” he added.
