Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated this Monday, October 20, that Israel had dropped “153 tons of bombs” on the Gaza Strip the day before, during deadly attacks in response to what the army denounced as attacks by Hamas in violation of the ceasefire.
“Yesterday we dropped 153 tons of bombs in different parts of the Gaza Strip after Hamas killed two of our soldiers,” declared Benjamin Netanyahu in the Knesset, the Israeli parliament, whose winter session officially opened on Monday.
The army, which announced on Sunday the death in combat of two soldiers in Rafah, in the south of the Gaza Strip, carried out bombings throughout this Palestinian territory, before announcing on Sunday afternoon that it was resuming the application of the ceasefire. Hamas denied any involvement and reaffirmed its “full commitment” to comply with the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on October 10.
