The president of Ukraine warned citizens on Sunday to be prepared for the consequences of new attacks by Russia, after accusing Moscow of using the cold against the population.
Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russian troops are preparing new attacks: “we know for sure. And as long as they have missiles, unfortunately they will not stop.”
“But our ability to help each other and take care of the most vulnerable, our mutual aid is one of the elements of protection against terror, as well as our strength,” he added, in the video that he records daily for the Ukrainian population. .

In this sense, he once again called for unity among Ukrainian citizens and greater attention to air alerts.
“Together and helping each other, we will also overcome this challenge of the war: this winter, this attempt by Russia to use the cold against the people,” he said.
The president’s remarks came after most of the country’s regions managed to restore power on Sunday, following Russian shelling of energy infrastructure last week.
Also this weekend, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of trying to weaponize winter.
Stoltenberg recalled “how dangerous it is” for the European population to “depend on Russia” for the supply of natural gas.
“Now we have to assess our dependence on authoritarian regimes, especially China,” the official said.
