The US immigration authorities detained 110 Cuban migrants, who arrived on Monday in an archipelago in the State of Florida, in three different landings.
The head of the Miami sector of the Border Patrol, Walter Slosar, reported this Wednesday on the social network Twitter that the migrants are available to the immigration authorities for eventual deportation.
According to the US Coast Guard, 1,132 Cubans were intercepted at sea in October, a significant number if one takes into account that in previous months the figure had been 6,182.
Since October 1 and to date, 2,243 Cubans have been intercepted through this route. But the numbers of interceptions of Cubans trying to reach the US by land are higher.
In October, 29,872 undocumented Cubans entered the US irregularly across land borders in October, marking the largest exodus of people from the island in decades.
The majority of these migrants (28,848) entered the US through the border with Mexico.
