The Metropolitan Opera of New York, in the United States, announced this Wednesday that it had been the object of a computer attack that blocked several services, including the box office.
In a statement posted on the official website, the New York company explains that a “cyberattack” temporarily hit its network systems, including the contents of the ‘site’, the ticket office and the service center.
The New York Metropolitan Opera ensures that all performances for the current season will take place as scheduled, but cannot sell new tickets or process changes and refunds.
According to the specialized publication OperaWire, the director general of the ‘Met’, Peter Gelb, informed the members of the institution that an investigation is being carried out for this computer attack.
Founded in 1883, the New York Metropolitan Opera is considered the largest institution in the United States dedicated to classical music.
