EU foreign ministers discuss support for Ukraine ahead of the last summit of the year

European Union (EU) diplomacy heads will discuss support for Ukraine to face Russian military aggression in Brussels this Monday, ahead of the last leaders’ summit of the year, which takes place on Thursday.

Two days after the Council of the European Union reached an agreement to unblock the EUR 18 billion macro-financial aid package for Ukraine for 2023, bypassing Hungary’s blockade, foreign ministers will focus on the material issues on Monday. support that the Kiev community bloc can continue to provide, militarily but also to help the Ukrainians and get through the winter between power cuts caused by Russian attacks on critical infrastructures.

The Council will also receive an operational overview of the work of the EU military assistance mission in support of Ukraine, following the visit of the High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, to the mission’s training facilities in Brzeg, Poland, the 2nd of December.
