One person was killed and five others wounded in Ukrainian attacks on Russia’s Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine, on Sunday, the region’s governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said on Telegram.
According to him, the shots were directed at Belgorod, the regional capital, wounding four people, as well as a nearby district where “unfortunately there is one dead and one wounded.” Windows of several buildings were broken and 14 houses were damaged, Vyacheslav Gladkov said.
The city of Belgorod has already been attacked many times by Kyiv forces. Last April, a fuel depot caught fire. Moscow, for its part, has been working for several weeks to attack Ukrainian energy facilities, plunging the warring country’s people into darkness and cold.
