Russia will send musicians to the front lines in Ukraine to try to boost the morale of the troops.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced the creation of a “creative brigade”, which includes singers and musicians, after a musical instrument donation campaign was launched in the country.
According to the BBC, which quotes the Russian news agency RBC, this brigade will be made up of soldiers mobilized to fight, but also by “professional artists who voluntarily join the military service.”
The aim is to keep “the morale and the psychological and political state of the participants in the special military operation high,” the Russian minister said, according to the same source.
Sergei Shoigu visited the area of the military operation in Ukraine to inspect the deployed Russian forces, on a trip that included a visit to the front lines to speak with the soldiers.
The Government responsible for Defense received reports from the military on the ground about the current situation and the actions of the Russian forces, said a statement from the Russian Armed Forces released this Sunday, without specifying when the visit took place.
The minister “paid special attention” to the organization of supplying the troops, to the living conditions and also to the work of the medical and rearguard services, the note added.
Last week Putin admitted that the war could drag on, and several senior Ukrainian officials recently said that the Kremlin is preparing a major offensive for early 2023, not excluding the possibility that the Russian army will try to recapture the capital kyiv. .
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg also warned that “Russia is preparing for a long war” and expressed his conviction that Putin “will launch new offensives.”
