“This story has a very happy ending,” said the Animal Center in Austin, Texas, United States on Thursday. Snow, a nearly 16-foot-tall albino reticulated python, was found and captured in the Coronado Hills neighborhood.
Since last July, residents of the Texas town have been on the watch as the yellow-and-white-scaled reptile prowls the streets.
“We received a call Monday about a giant python. Due to the temperatures, the snake was listless enough that some residents were able to catch it and keep it in their garage,” the center posted on its Facebook account.
Once there, the association evacuated it from the home and entrusted it to the Austin Zoo, which will provide the reptile with “more appropriate housing.”
The owner found
You should know that this animal is not wild. It usually lives in the jungles of Southeast Asia.
The animal center searched the internet and found an ad dating back several months. In July, a Dallas man claimed to have lost his python after a bag containing the snake was stolen from his car. He was identified and the albino python was returned to him.
“The snow has found its owner and Coronado Hills no longer needs to be on the lookout for a giant python!” the Animal Center of Austin concluded.
