Portugal has only a few hours left to officially enter 2023. However, due to the time difference, some countries in Oceania, including Australia and New Zealand, have already celebrated New Year’s Eve.
At 11:00 in Lisbon, New Zealand, the bells that began 2023 were already ringing, celebrating with fireworks and animation in the city of Auckland.
Fireworks also lit up the sky in Australia, bringing thousands of people together in Sydney and Melbourne, the country’s two most populous cities.
In Seoul, the capital of South Korea, crowds celebrated the transition to a new chapter as it reached 3 p.m. in Lisbon.
Around the same time, Japan and North Korea also celebrated the arrival of a new year. In Tokyo, the streets were filled to receive 2023.
In Hong Kong, China, it is also 2023.
