When the latter was elected president in 2009 after the death of his father Omar Bongo Ondimba, after more than 41 years in power, Moussa Adamo became his special adviser and confidant in the presidential palace for many years.
After serving as Ambassador of Gabon to the United States for 10 years (2011-2020), he was appointed Minister of Defense in July 2020 and Minister of Foreign Affairs in March 2022.
