Germany has collected evidence of war crimes in Bucha, Ukraine, and in Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure, Peter Frank, the German attorney general, revealed in an interview published Saturday in the Welt am Sonntag newspaper. In the opinion of the person responsible, the conditions are in place for a judicial process at an international level.
The prosecutor adds that, so far, the number of war crimes exceeds triple digits.
The Russian invasion – justified by Russian President Vladimir Putin as the need to “denazify” and demilitarize Ukraine for Russia’s security – was condemned by the wider international community, which has responded by sending arms to Ukraine and imposing them on Russia in political and economic sanctions.
The UN presented as confirmed since the beginning of the war 7,110 dead civilians and 11,547 wounded, stressing that these figures are far below the real ones.
