Seven people have died and several are missing in Italy due to a strong storm that shook the center of the country this morning, said firefighters, who have received hundreds of calls for help in recent hours.
All the deaths were recorded in the Marche region, where 400 millimeters of water were recorded in just two hours, “which represents a third of the rainfall for the entire year,” said the head of Italian Civil Protection, Fabrizio Curzio.
The force of the water hit several towns in the region, where firefighters are trying to locate the victims of the storm, which also affected, although to a lesser extent, the neighboring region of Tuscany.
