NATO denounces computer attacks on several Alliance websites

A computer attack Sunday night on several NATO “sites” left the page of the Alliance’s special operations headquarters temporarily inaccessible, the organization said.

“NATO cyber experts are actively dealing with an incident affecting some Alliance sites. NATO regularly deals with cyber incidents and takes cyber security very seriously,” a NATO official told the German news agency DPA. .

The statement comes after reports on social media suggested that pro-Russian hackers attacked several “websites”, including the website of NATO’s special operations headquarters, rendering it temporarily inaccessible.

Also according to the same reports, among the attackers could be the Russian group of ‘hackers’ Killnet, associated with other recent attacks, including the ‘site’ of the German parliament (Bundestag), indicated the DPA.
