More than 35,000 people died in the violent earthquake that shook Turkey and Syria a week ago, according to official figures published on Monday.
The 7.8 magnitude earthquake, which was followed by several aftershocks, killed 31,643 people in southern Turkey, the Emergency and Disaster Management Authority (AFAD) said, while in Syria authorities counted 3,581. dead.
The latest figures also indicate that more than 92,600 people were injured in both countries.
