Moldova’s airspace reopened after being closed for more than two hours, this Tuesday, for “security reasons.”
“Moldovan airspace was temporarily closed at 11:24 a.m. (9:24 a.m. in Portugal) on February 14, in order to guarantee safety,” the Moldovan Civil Aviation Authority said in a statement cited by the AFP agency. “At 2:47 p.m. (Portuguese time) the airspace was reopened,” he added, without elaborating.
The Moldovan press reported that “a foreign drone” was “flying without authorization”.
The closure of Moldovan airspace comes a day after Moldovan President Maia Sandu accused Russia of planning a coup in the country with the help of citizens of Belarus, Serbia and Montenegro trained by military personnel to carry out carry out actions of violence disguised as protests.
However, Russia has denied any “plan to destabilize Moldova”.
