The Kremlin says that Biden’s visit to Ukraine does not influence Russian domestic politics

The Kremlin spokesman considered this Tuesday that the US president’s visit to Ukraine on Monday does not influence Russian domestic policy because “it is not an extraordinary event,” reports the Efe agency.

“I do not think that for us a visit by the US president, even to Ukraine, is an extraordinary event capable of influencing our internal policy,” said Dmitry Peskov, quoted by that Spanish news agency.

However, the Europa Press news agency also said, citing Peskov’s remarks to Russian television channel 1TV, that Russia was following Joe Biden’s visit to Kiev “very closely”, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“Let’s consider that the priority is us and our agenda,” quotes Europa Press.

On Biden’s speech, the Kremlin spokesman said that “there is a high level of probability” that the US president’s speech is “a continuation of Russophobia.”

Joe Biden, who is in Poland on the occasion of the first year of war in Ukraine, announced this Monday in Kiev a new aid package of more than 500 million dollars and that includes long-range weapons and even other weapons that “never before had been provided.” .

The US president also revealed that Washington will impose new sanctions against elites and companies that help the Russian “war machine”.
