A rescue team has pulled a dog alive from the rubble following the magnitude-7.8 earthquake three weeks ago in southern Turkey, local media reported Thursday.
The dog Aleks was rescued on Wednesday and handed over to Haytap, a Turkish animal protection organization in the city of Antakya.
A video from the Turkish news agency DHA shows rescuers pulling the dog out of the rubble.

The footage also shows the rescue team hugging the dog, who appears to be alert and in good health, and offering him water.
“All living things are important to us, human or animal,” a local resident told the private agency DHA after the miraculous rescue.
Rescue teams rescued hundreds of cats, dogs, rabbits and birds trapped in Antakya, one of the cities devastated by the disaster. In the organization’s Haytap tent, veterinarians care for and treat the injured animals.
The February 6 earthquake killed more than 45,000 people in Turkey and thousands in Syria, completely destroying hundreds of thousands of buildings.
