At least 13 people have been killed, including an eight-month-old baby, after a Russian attack on a residential building in the southern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia, according to the region’s Department of Emergency Situations.
“Among the rubble of the building, specialists from the State Emergency Services recovered 13 bodies, one of them an eight-month-old baby,” the institution said on the Telegram messaging system and quoted by the Efe news agency.
Authorities also claim to have rescued 11 residents, three cats and a dog alive from the five-story residential building that was partially destroyed by a Russian missile in the early hours of March 2.
The municipal services removed more than 893 tons of rubble and the psychologists of the emergency services provided assistance to about 100 people, including residents of the building and relatives of the victims.
Seven people were hospitalized as a result of the attack, two of them in serious condition, according to the governor of Zaporojia, also quoted by Efe.
