Croatia concluded this Sunday its entry into the European Schengen area of ​​free movement with the inclusion of Croatian airports, after joining the land and sea borders on January 1.

As of this Sunday, all flights from Croatia to the other 26 Schengen countries and vice versa are treated as “internal flights”, so passengers will transit without border controls for documentation.

The Croatian Ministry of the Interior said in a statement that Croatia’s nine international airports are starting to implement the new system today, noting that the average proportion of air traffic will be 70% domestic versus 30% international, except at the Croatian airport.
