It is the day of the parliamentary elections in Finland. Prime Minister Sanna Marin could fail to run for re-election this Sunday.
The latest polls point to a strengthening of the right-wing parties, with Sanna Marin’s party in third place.
The first results are expected around 20:00 local time (18:00 in mainland Portugal).
These elections take place just two days before Finland’s formal accession to NATO, an accession made possible after Turkey approved the candidacy on Thursday.
Sanna Marin has been in office for four years, since 2019. At the time, she was the youngest to take over as head of government, at just 34 years old.
