Ukrainian forces are losing more and more ground in the battle of Bahkmut, one of the most intense in recent months. Russian forces are pressing every square meter of the city on the outskirts of Donestk.
Just over 30 kilometers from the front lines, in the small town of Konstantinivka, the streets are being prepared with concrete barriers, as TSF has seen. Despite the fierce fighting, there are still an unknown number of inhabitants in Bakhmut who live in subhuman conditions without water, gas or electricity.
Ukrainian forces, supported by Western volunteers, attempt to evacuate civilians, but the operation is often risky given the possibility of a Russian attack.
In addition to the Russian forces, several squads of mercenaries from the Wagner group are also assembled in Bahkmut.
