Ukraine on Tuesday accused the Russian head of state of visiting places where crimes were committed, after the Kremlin announced a surprise visit by Vladimir Putin to the occupied southern and eastern regions of the country.
It was a “special trip” for the perpetrator of “mass murders” in the occupied territories to revel in the “crimes” committed by Russian forces, said Mykailo Podoliak, an adviser to the Ukrainian president.
Podoliak’s accusation was made public through the social network Twitter.
Russian President Vladimir Putin traveled to the Kherson and Lugansk regions in southern and eastern Ukraine to meet with the military deployed in the framework of the Russian invasion that began more than a year ago, the Kremlin announced this morning.
The Kremlin statement did not specify when the trip took place, but added that the Russian president congratulated the military in the Kherson and Lugansk regions on the occasion of the Orthodox holiday of Easter, which fell on Sunday.
