The Minister of Foreign Affairs, João Gomes Cravinho, revealed on Monday that 22 Portuguese asked the Government for help to leave Sudan. The official indicated, in statements to journalists in Porto, that 11 have already been withdrawn in the emergency operations coordinated by Italy and Spain, and the rest are waiting for an airlift.
João Gomes Cravinho also indicated that a national citizen chose to stay in the African country, since he lives in the south of Sudanese territory, far from the violence registered in the capital, Khartoum.
