A Russian missile strike this Monday against the town of Pavlograd, in Ukraine’s Dnipro region, left more than 30 injured, including children, Ukrainian authorities reported, Europa Press reports.
According to that news agency, the governor of the Dnipro region, Serhiy Lisak, has indicated in his personal account on the Telegram network that “34 people were injured by a missile strike”, noting that among the victims are five minors, one of them an eight-year-old girl..
Lisak accused Russia of “again being at war with peaceful people”, lamenting the “tragic night” in Dnipropetrovsk.
The governor also added that Ukrainian air defenses intercepted seven Russian missiles, but the attack, he said, hit an industrial area and caused a fire.
“In residential areas, 19 multi-storey buildings, 25 private homes, six schools and kindergartens and five shops were affected,” he said.
However, he guaranteed that “all services are active in the affected areas”.
Hours earlier, Ukrainian authorities had issued a general warning due to the threat of Russian attacks in various parts of the country.
Sirens sounded in the regions of Sumy (north), Poltava, Kharkov (east), Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporiyia, Donetsk, Nikolaev, Kherson and Odessa (south), Ukrainian news agency UNIAN reported, quoted by Europa Press.
