Eight people were shot dead and 13 wounded on Thursday night near the Serbian town of Mladenovac, some 60 kilometers south of Belgrade, local media reported on Friday.
The gunman used an automatic weapon on a group of people from a moving vehicle and fled, state television RTS reported.
Police are looking for the suspect, he added. Numerous police and ambulances have been mobilized, and helicopters fly over the place.
The shooting came a day after a 13-year-old student shot dead eight children and a security guard at a Belgrade school, a killing that deeply shocked the country.
In April, a man shot dead 13 people, including family members and neighbors, near Mladenovac.
