Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, will visit Ukraine for the fifth time on Tuesday on the occasion of Europe Day, it was announced on Monday.
The announcement of the trip was made by community administrator spokesman Eric Mamer, who said von der Leyen would meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Mamer also pointed out that the meeting will discuss Ukraine’s accession process to the EU and the aid the bloc is providing to the country.
Von der Leyen has already visited Ukraine four times since the beginning of the Russian aggression, on February 24, 2022, the last one on the eve of a year of war.
Zelensky announced that he will present to the Ukrainian parliament this Monday a bill declaring May 8 as “Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in World War II” in the country and a decree marking May 9 as “Europe Day like the EU countries.
