Twenty people, including minors, were rescued at dawn in the Strait of Gibraltar when they tried to reach the coast of Spain from Morocco in two speedboats, the Spanish authorities reported this Saturday, according to the Efe agency.

According to information from the Maritime Rescue authorities in Spain provided to the Efe agency, the rescue maneuvers began at 03:00 local time (02:00 Lisbon time), when the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center of Tarifa, in Cádiz He received several calls. warning of the presence of speedboats in the area.

At 06:40 local time, the rescue vessel Salvamar Arcturus located one of the speedboats, a recreational inflatable boat, in which ten men of North African origin were sailing.

At 7:25 a.m., the Salvamar Enif boat located a second speedboat, also with ten North African men.

All those rescued were transferred to the port of Algeciras in apparent good health, according to the Efe agency, whose sources consulted indicated that some of those rescued were minors, but could not confirm the exact number.

Also this Saturday, three sub-Saharan immigrants managed to enter the enclave of Ceuta, in Spain, irregularly, after managing to jump the double border barrier with Morocco, which is ten meters high.

According to Efe, these are three young people from Sudan and the Republic of Guinea, who ended up being transferred to the Temporary Immigrant Stay Center (CETI), with a capacity for 512 people and which currently houses just over 200 immigrants.
