Eurozone GDP growth slows to 1.3% in Q1

The year-on-year growth of the euro zone economy slowed down, in the first quarter, to 1.3%, and that of the European Union (EU) to 1.2%, according to a quick estimate released this Tuesday by Eurostat .

The gross domestic product (GDP) of the euro zone had an interannual increase of 1.3% between January and March, after having grown 1.8% in the previous quarter, and that of the EU rose 1.2%, compared to the year-on-year increase of 1.7% registered between October and December 2022.

According to the estimate of the European statistical service, in the quarterly comparison, the GDP of the euro zone registered an increase of 0.1% and of 0.2% in the EU, after, in the last quarter of 2022, it had fallen 0.1% in both areas
