The UK says Ukraine has already used long-range missiles it supplied

British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said on Thursday that Ukrainian forces had already used long-range Storm Shadow missiles supplied by the UK a week ago.

“All I can say is they’ve been used since we announced their deployment in Ukraine, but I won’t go into more details,” Secretary of State Ben Wallace told Sky News.

Similarly, the person in charge of Britain’s defense work stressed that the weapons systems supplied to Ukraine by Western allies were “powerful” and served to “make a difference”.

Wallace warned that Russia plans to develop a “naval program” designed to “observe and potentially sabotage or attack adversaries’ critical infrastructure”.

“[A Rússia] it has an array of submarines and other equipment and spy craft and everything else designed specifically for this purpose… Whether it’s the Nord Stream or our own infrastructure, this is a fragile area and it needs protection,” he said.

Despite everything, the British Defense Secretary has stated that London has not only “the intention”, but also “the ability” to “defend” these infrastructures against the threat posed by Russia.

The British government announced a week ago that missiles capable of hitting targets more than 250 kilometers away would be sent to Ukraine to help Ukrainian forces deal with “Russian violence”.

For its part, the Russian Foreign Ministry denounced this decision by the British authorities as an “extremely hostile” move that highlights London’s participation in the conflict in Ukraine.

The military offensive launched by Russia in Ukraine on February 24, 2022 was justified by the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, with the need to “denazify” and demilitarize Ukraine for Russia’s security.

The offensive was condemned by the international community at large, which responded by sending weapons to Ukraine and imposing political and economic sanctions on Russia.

The UN presented 8,534 civilian casualties and 14,370 wounded as confirmed since the start of the war, underlining that these numbers are far below the actual ones.
