A 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck eastern Japan near Tokyo on Friday night, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) announced.
The earthquake, which did not generate a tsunami alert, was recorded at 7:03 p.m. (10:03 a.m. Lisbon time) at a depth of 50 kilometers in Pacific waters, off Chiba (east), according to the same source.
